Blink, a smart camera company, has recently been acquired by tech giant Amazon.
Last week, Amazon unlisted all of Google and Apple's smart home products from their ecommerce platform. In attempt to push their own products to the top of the smart home market, the Chromecast amongst other devices were made temporarily unavailable.
This new acquisition by Amazon could explain why Blink discontinued SmartThings support just 4 days ago. For now it is only speculation, but we can assume Amazon will continue on it's path of acquiring smaller smart home companies in an attempt to control the market.
